Based in Durrington, Wiltshire, STAR club welcomes all abilities from experienced triathletes to complete beginners who want to dive into the world of Multi-sport. We offer several coached sessions during the week if you're able to make them, in addition to these we arrange ad-hoc meetings through our facebook page.

MEET THE TEAM

Shaun Green
Head Coach & Chairman
Shaun became interested in multi-sport activities in 1996 and has since become a familiar and well established face in the coaching business. He runs his own company Green Coaching and is the principle sponsor and founding member of the STAR Club.
Shaun has a number of professional coaching qualifications and usually takes the Thursday swim session he's pre-occupied coaching the Guyana National Cycle Team

Jonathan Hargrave
Coach
Jonathan is a keen triathlete and is Manager of the local leisure centres in the region. A talented runner, Jonathan usually takes the running sessions from the pool on a Saturday morning and also attends track sessions at Salisbury Athletics track on a Tuesday evening.

Claire Fraser-Green
Coach & Head of Events
Claire is an accomplished cyclist, competing for the Guyana National Team in the Caribbean Championships and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She is also well qualified to give advice and tips to develop member's skills and physiology

Kate McBain
Kate Mcbain, known as Narna to some at the club is the Events Organiser for the club. Is a Level 2 Triathlon Coach, she is also a Level Swimming Teacher so helps coach the pool sessions and is looking to do an open water coaching qualification next year.
Kate likes to compete in several events mainly to complete them and tick them off her wish list.

Sue Hartwell
Coach
Sue is a Level 2 Swim Teacher & has been a keen member of the club since the beginning. She is a regular at the Saturday morning runs and coaches the Thursday swim sessions. She completed her first triathlon in 2015. Sue became a Level 1 Triathlon coach in 2019.

Sue Hazzard
Coach
Sue is a Level 3 Middle Distance Running Coach. She is also a keen cyclist and always present on the social rides. Over the years she has competed at various triathlons, duathlons & long distance races.

Andrew Matthews
Coach
Andrew is a Level 2 Triathlon Coach. He started triathlon to challenge himself & get fitter.
He thoroughly enjoys seeing the athletes he coaches achieve their goals. The most enjoyable part of triathlon for Andrew is to cross the finish line.

Lawrence Kaile
Club Secretary
Joined STAR in 2018, as a beginner to Triathlon and absolutely petrified of swimming, didn’t have a bike and was injured through running. I have loved the Tri-journey ever since. Favourite discipline… The swim (Open Water) and the longer the better.

Shona Oldfield
Membership Secretary
Shona joined STAR in the latter part of 2021, initially it was to join a community and gain back some fitness. Through the encouragement of the club she can't wait to take part in a triathlon and venture into open water swimming. Looking forward to what the future holds.

John Lewis
Treasurer
John is a qualified Management Accountant and a retired Triathlete after competing at the Ironman World Championships in 2013 and is now focusing on cycling. Although John has no coaching qualifications he wanted to give something back to STAR so now volunteers as treasurer.
